3. To make fun of; tease.

[Probably variant of dialectal twick, from Middle English twikken, from Old English twiccian))
- Locally I refers it to Garmen fine tuning or manipulations<of population growth, all citizens etc> all year round irregardless of election year of not!
- I believe a good government is to govern the people for the people and ultimately its our own people doing the ruling for the interests of all Singaporeans.
- The growing political power of the Garmen seemed to be a form of pragmatic pyschological brain washing which I call tweaking the minds and hearts of the people with a two prongs skinner pyschology not unlike the treatments of animals e.g. dogs as in Parlov experiment..we are not animals !

Samuel Gompers’ often paraphrased maxim,
"Reward your friends and punish your enemies,"
hints at two of the five types of power recognized by social psychologists: incentive power (the power to reward) and coercive power (the power to punish).
Arguably the other three grow out of these two.
Legitimate power, the power of the policeman or the referee, is the power given to an individual by a recognized authority to enforce standards of behavior. Legitimate power is similar to coercive power in that unacceptable behavior is punished by fine or penalty. Some political ideologies, notably anarchism, deny the existence of legitimate power. Anarcho-capitalists give legitimate power to property owners and private arbitrators but do not grant it to the coercive state.
Referent power is bestowed upon individuals by virtue of accomplishment or attitude. Fulfillment of the desire to feel similar to a celebrity or a hero is the reward for obedience.
Expert power springs from education or experience. Following the lead of an experienced coach is often rewarded with success. Expert power is conditional to the circumstances. A brain surgeon is no help when your pipes are leaking.

[edit] Political tweakings and awakenings of many walks of life
- It does not make sense: when a graduate degree holder tried to apply for a police job as an officer in the Police Department and needed to be politically vetted! When the identities and particulars of bother parents, siblings etc are screened and vetted by people of the ruling political party which has a veto on all applicants even though they had been suitable selected and short listed!
- It does not never made sense when it is illegal to qualify a person's job prospect by race, religion or such prejudices in matters of job prospects, flats allocations, and such which would not be cases of other comparative democratic governments of other greater Countries.
- It does not make sense when people from China, India and elsewhere where non-Singaporeans are admitted to citizenship but local PRs who applied for citizenship are vetted by the Presidential committee and sometimes rejected by a small insignificant reason although the PR maybe well be a Singaporean who know Singapore better than any of those new applicants from other Countries! She may be a tax payer and given births to many children who are Singaporeans by birth! Why? I don't really know that well, Lor..

- It does not make sense when jobs and goodies goes to supporters of the ruling party for preferential treatment such as for HDB flats allocation and jobs, business licenses etc.. They just jump the queue when everyone had to wait for years < history>!
Conclusion: I call it discrimination of the type relating to social engineering by incentive rewards and coercive punishments!
- It used to be if you are a rich businessman < an alien or foreigner> if you put in a certain amount of money you automatically get selected to be citizen, however that rule has been changed, now it is your political loyalty to the ruling PAP! They had it<labeled> as core values
- Discrimination in of another Countries? : In Malaysia when someone <wanting to reside in M'sia> put US $75,000 in the local M'sia bank for a year, then I heard they allow that foreigner to take out that money <after one year> to purchase a property and will therefore be given a residential status for residing in Malaysia not a bad idea for Singaporeans to chobok! All such tweakings would never be unchallenged if and when we have a stronger voice to speak out for the people < for all Singaporeans> not just allowing those just back backbenchers< to sit as representatives of the people! > under the Garmen whip!
