If we can see the analogy of an apple and an onion, can we picture the core of an onion? Of course, when one start to peel away the layer after layers of the onion when would you find the core? Only the apple has a core, not the onion!

People of Singapore <Singaporean> from all walks of life believed in a few solid value:

1. MONEY
2. Money
3. money...so what kind of values? any core? I think not! it's just like an onion inside no core LOr!

The only permanent values are those of human relationship and the lasting ones are the core of values we all must think and try to incalculated with our people hearts and minds, a fair Garmen with a working constitution behind it. Those values inherited from our individual principles, family, our Land, our multi-faceted cultures’’’ our spoken and written languages and our hollowed traditions all such possesses lasting values.

[edit] What are some of the common core values developed among all Singaporeans?

This is a question we must ask when we come to the issue of finding a ‘‘‘identity’’’ for Singaporeans.

It comes from our roots in history of our people whom we all can be proud. If there is one, it is our willingness to survive in spite all obstacles, all odds against us. I remembered when the days when my mother would get up early to go and work in the construction sites as a coolie to feed me and my siblings, however sometimes the Kang towkay would not be able pay her fellow coolies or she wuld be cheated time and again<!>, and with no money to bring home! Yet, we all survive! Singaporeans will always remember these people our forebears had survived and they are our heroes and heroines to recall! The true value of any Singaporean is the ability to overcome our situations and difficulties and survive well. I speak for a lot of us here!

I remembered those days when my Grandfather and grandmother spoke of the Japanese occupation: yet in spite all the bad things around them, they spoke of festival spirit and remembered those good old days to encourage us to go on living. There is a always a silver lining in the dark clouds of hard times: with three and half years of the Japanese occupation. Let's us never forget our indomitable spirit of our forbears !

Today, we have believe and see, and come to share some of the blessings of a wealthy rich and prosperous nation among so many poorer nations surround us, let us then, be thankful and by a real way be generous to share with our neighbors and remember the " fatherless " and those " in need " among our many own people, and those the " have-nots "

• This is no other better spirit than this great spirit of generosity which we can learn to cultivate among Singaporeans for ourselves and our children's children !
  

I would encourage the Garmen even though I don't agree with many of their operating principles and policies, to be what we all Singaporeans really want, a nation of people living in an environment of freedom and openness with the sort of creativity spirit to flourish in our humble spirit of love and kindness with all our surrounding neighbors!

All such values can be cultivated in us when we all as a people are willing to be part of the Great Spirit whom our Creator had put is our souls for ever as long as mankind has a divine purpose and destiny here on earth!

If our nation and people can find a real purpose here in Singapore, there won't be many who found no meaning for living here, and go to find new pastures in strange places !

1. Individual freedom from fear of intimidations, yet respect for the rule of the Law, political right and freedom for all Singaporeans with fairness to stand for election and to vote..
2. Family values, family roots with respect to religions, traditions and cultures.
3. Respect for others, races, cultures and languages.
4. Equality with fairness i.e. with opportunities for all to achieve regardless of race, creed or political affliations.
5. Healthy respect of the rule the law should come a fair understanding and promotion of what the people of Singapore wants in respect to both the dignity of Mankind and a need to prevent those who erred by corrections and reforms with only penal punishments for those mandatory life or death sentences as what the society wants. For instant, if we want death punishment to continue for drug offences, so let it be by general consensus as to be allowed under the Country Constitution's ammendments.
6. Social cohesiveness with Asian prospectives and outlook..

N.B. these are some of the issues which we could seek to change and improve in a more just and fairer society ? It cannot just be some values we simply adopted artificially from some internet sources, it has to be worked out from waht we as Singaporeans want and aspire to be..a true people with a true heart! Certainly we (when poor) used to be sharing and living in harmony in the kampongs of yesterday, however we need to establish such generosity among a caring people ourselves truly..

They did..HOWEVER THEY DARE NOT ADMIT THAT THEY FAILED SO FAR.. but they want us them to be supportive to their system of enslave-ing all of us as their worthy slaves! Support our core values. They tried to seduce us goodies.. What are those BTW? You could go and gamble in the future Singapore casino and try your lucky bet to become a citizen too like in USA[[3]]

It used to be if you are a rich businessman < an alien or foreigner> if you put in a certain amount of money you automatically get selected to be citizen, however that rule has been changed, now it is your political loyalty to the ruling PAP! They had it<labeled> as core values..

1. They had shamefully done away with individual freedom and replaced with their "compliance to a new brand of Singapore ideals"
2. They have incalculated all their work ethics and values contrary to our family values!
3. The have replaced respect for others with a subtle respect for lightning and PAP and their own gods!
4. What about fairness? Well equal opportunities for all in the party and those who supported their policies!

When some old retired people went to the Bank (Hong Leong) to put in their lifesaving for a higher interest return..the bank people (financial advisors) told them Lehman Brother a well known old setup financial banking system in USA are paying higher interest, would they consider it? So they agreed and signed below the dotted line...... Unknowingly just as even the financial advisers were unaware - exactly one year later the Lehman Brothers filled for bankruptcy protection in USA. Millions of retired people all the world over were shocked. How could the oNE OF (4TH?) largest banking system collapsed so fast? (in just One day!) Just like 9/11 eh? However, it was never a joke with those serious people who trusted the advisers & their banks etc, etc..
What to do lah? all my saving gone like that? So a bunch of old retirees and people who lost their savings went out to protest (legally only at ) the Speakers' corner!

The garmen told the banks: "Do right, get it done right!" I do hope they all get some of their savings back..maybe the garmen who is responsible to ensure the whole banking (eg. MAS) system works also do right!..amen? so it be..
