[edit] Latest issues close to Singaporeans:
Cultivate a beautiful Mind is similar to the tender_love_care taken by old Gardener with his flower, grass patches, trees, hedges and the whole setup-up known as his own "Garden"! Daily he waters all his plants, trims the overgrowths and plucks out the unwanted weeds. It takes a lot of his TIME but it is worth it. When visitors come and look at his Garden, the beautiful flowers with carefully well selected rows of lilies, tulips among colorful setting, then there are the separate rolls of roses scattered with all different flowers and plus all the green tuff.. Wow-wow, it's beautiful isn't it?
- Technologically we can use available technologies to build a "electric mind" or computer but it is unable to grow and develop like the organic human mind can do. Some MIT researchers are still learning how to work on the neurological type of latest stuffs but it is still primitive compared with the human mind ! The computers have to be pre-programmed with the rules and systems of the digital codes, but with the human mind, there is no set rules to work on, it is free to be cultivated according to the Psyche presence or the self consciousness which just come into being at infancy or even possible at the embryonic stage! When scientists can build such a close-up with the human brain will take more steps and leaps in research yet to come, and it may take roomfuls of gadgets to have a slow model. That is how amazing the human mind is, isn't it?
- It made him, the old Gardener proud! So it is with the mind. A person want to keep his or her mind clear of trashy stuffs < ask God to help forgive and renew> put all things in Order <knowledge are well categorized> decorated with simple yet clever designs < with details plus quality> not just facts, technological know-how and figures, but more. It takes Time to develop <healthy habits, discipline>. A good well cultivated mind should GROW straight and able to blend and bend whenever the occasion call for it. So be an Upright person and well-cultured and respected. ( Agree with ~Kiss!
- This will pleased your Mother and Father who will notice you growing up beautifully inside: cultivating your spiritual, physical and social well-being! Alien 07:13, 12 Apr 2005 (SGT)
[edit] yALA PUT-PATA
A hungarian story of two men whose life..
as told by the STORY TELLER and the PrEsident of a college [[1]]
I met two old relatives from my kampong, and two of these old timers were my relatives and old neighbors. Unlike myself(luv to roam) they both never travel far or beyond Singapore, and they both never were lost in strange places-unlike me. I would think them as "closed" minded to the world's worldviews and all they know is the little Island in Singapore since they also don't like to travel. One of them said to me: traveling is like running away from persecution (as during depression or war times).
I presumed these two people ( I had not seen or talk with them for over twenty years, and hardly understand their worldviews, it would be unkind to MAKE judgment on them as "under-educated"). So I forced myself to listen to them as we were the only nite-birds keeping the wake of another relative who died and his coffin lain just not too far from our conversation table). Yes, I learned a lot that evening, and I will never pre-judged anyone as "under-educated". Life is always an education, we never stop learning even ..after when we become old and feeble, the minds still remain pliable as long as we wanna too!

[edit] A sad story
Have you read the biography of a Singaporean and a graduate form Raffles Girls' school and Hwa Chong, two of the best schools you can find on our little Island here in Singapore? goto see [[2]]
It can be from any schools too, just as I heard one of the students boasting at Harvard University during the graduation Class of 2003: "4 out the 100, successful students here will be in the porno industry. it's in statistics"! (BTW I don't believe in such nonsens-ical statistics, for reasons of my own, its the pathetic example of beliving in the Gook brainy stuffs!
Statistics will prove that every fifth or sixth person born will be a Chinese, so I have seen BIG western families of AngMohs with at least a dozen kids among their siblings, BTW none were born China-kids!
- perhaps our local Sporean Sweetie was not exactly destined for becoming 'if she had a choice? Yet the fact still is she is just 4 among the hundred. Look at her beautiful youthful picture here, would you ever want to believe how wild she had become?
- She received the appalling record as a pioneer in the sex industry by breaking the record having intercourse with 251 men in a marathron session of 10 hours <just a few years ago? Her own biography read like another sad movie story: blaming everyone else except herself! (POV I meant if she came from such a straight "A" environment, she doesn't know what she is in for?)
- Her parents were teachers, and obviously very caring for her, and wanted to bring her up into a beautiful flower however, she turn out to be a wild flower.
- Was it the fault of the parent, her environment? Or what?
- I think it is just nobody or circumstances to blame except herself. Please, don't get me wrong, as parents we all do have a great part to play in the cultivation of the habits and mindset of all our own children!
It is very difficult to raise beautiful flowers. It would takes plenty of love and patience. If you think you can leave the flowers alone and grow wild, you will be surprised! The undisciplined plant can turn into a monstrous looking tree in the wild garden where the fittest still survive. It's very unlikely it will turn out to be like any of the happy and well groom plant you see here in the bonsai picture. For plants it is too late to cultivate it right after the grrow and maturing nurturing stage : they will remain blend with the wild look for the rest of its existence.
Raising children up in a good family and not spoiling them with things is probably an important lesson in life. Myself as father with my working wife as parents are reluctant to impose unnecessary discipline upon our growing young children, Inwardly as kiasu parents we fear of losing our own children because due to selfish love, or just we want them to have what all children wants (not needs, mind you, just WANTS) so we end up spoiling them especially with the only one child in the family.
- I have three beautiful children and they are growing up, with the kind of love we parents can give, however, the fact we never want to spoil them with things. The elder is a responsible Son who is training for his career in USA after graduating from a local University. Our second daughter, a graduate from a Bible college, now pursuing a post graduate degree in IT. The youngest girl (our daughter living with us in Singapore) is a working post Secondary top class “A” student who prefer working than doing a academic pursuit in the J.C. or university. Next year she will continue with a an accredited college to get her degree in her own sweet time. All three adult kids<now> goes to church and are serving as youth leaders in their own peer group among Christians. We as parents prayed for them daily and constantly for we know they all are not ours to own>>>>>
- but, given as our inheritance from the Lord God. We don't own them even they know they are responsible for their moral conduct in their own relationship to Him, as their own heavenly Father.
