Downtown Line

The Downtown Line (DTL) will be built in three stages, with Stage 1 to be completed in 2013, Stage 2 to be completed in 2015 and Stage 3 in 2017. When fully completed, the DTL will enhance the connectivity of the Rapid Transit System network and facilitates direct travel from the northwestern and eastern areas of the island to the Central Business District and the Marina Bay.

Stage 1
The 4.3km Line comprises 6 stations. These stations are: Chinatown, Telok Ayer, Downtown, Bayfront, Promenade and Bugis. It will feature 4 Interchanges, with links to North East Line (NEL), East West Line (EWL) and Circle Line (CCL). Stage 1 of the Line has commenced its construction in 2009 and will be completed in 2013 and will provide a strategic transport link to serve workers, residents and visitors in the exciting Marina Bay area and upcoming developments such as the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resorts and the Marina Bay Financial Centre.

Stage 2
The 16.6km long Downtown Line Stage 2 (DTL2) comprises one depot and 12 stations, including three interchange stations at Little India, Newton and the Botanic Gardens. These 3 interchange stations will link to the North East Line(NEL), North South Line(NSL) and Circle Line(CCL) respectively, giving commuters greater accessibility to the rest of the island and significantly improving travel time.

Stage 3
The 19.1km Line will feature 16 stations. It will run through MacPherson, Bedok Reservoir and Tampines ending at the East West Line Expo Station. Scheduled to be completed in 2017, it will reduce travel time by 10 minutes for commuters traveling to the city from Bedok Reservoir and Tampines. It will feature 3 Interchanges, with links to East West Line (EWL), Changi Airport Extension Line (CGL) and Circle Line (CCL).
Stage 3 of the Downtown Line is the final stage and as of 20 August, LTA confirmed the following stations:
