Exegesis
From SgWiki
Exegesis is different from eisegesis
- in the Dictionary it is describe as noun form : an explanation or critical interpretation (especially of the Bible)
- in the root form (etymology)- Greek ἐξηγεῖσθαι to lead out. That is to draw out the meaning from the original writing of the writer.
- is the inductive method of interpretation of the texts within the context of the scriptures as in the Bible.
The word exegesis means to draw the meaning out of a given text. It is sometimes contrasted with eisegesis, which means to read <into it> one's own interpretation into a given text. In general, exegesis presumes an attempt to view the text objectively, while eisegesis is more subjective.
