Gambling What is gambling ? It is a form of risk taking with chances. You bet a dollar and hope to win. What are the chances of winning? It may be 10000 to one, and that's sound like betting in 4D draws or Toto super jackpot! However, it's is an issue with morality: somone may destain it like smoking or drinking, both are considered as social evils, and it's wrong to smoke and drink (unhealthy too). However, under the laws just like all laws are made by people who formed those rules to help the society to survive or live peaceably. It is not illegal to gamble with 4D and Toto for all adults.but it it is forbidden to youngster below 18 here in Singapore

  • Yes or No is not the issue here, that is : bridge below the waters. The garmen decide to build casinos in Singapore! This is not just a money issue per se, but a prevalent social moral issue not just an entrepreneur spirit and we 'll see how the garmen and people cope with it too, like 4D and Toto!
  • Chinese Cultural threshold- In our Chinese Culture adopted from old Mainland China, when some beautiful bride-to-be is married into another family. We call it "crossing the threshold" Once she crosses that alien threshold, she became an alien to her own family, and it is a threshold of no return. The happy bride knows it, and had to live with it all the rest her life into the new family with her husband, not with her parents! In life, we all had important decisions; both at personal level and family level, and at our national level the threshold we cross affect all Singaporeans. Our Government always chooses the right and wise decisions. It is our hope and prayers that it will be the right ones in the years to come.

We need to take risks, not risk our national life for a bleak future

Gambling is always, without doubt, followed by forced prostitutions, drugs trading and a growing numbers of illegal money lenders and thugs. It is not our Chinese culture, in fact it is a vice and not to be encouraged. As a small nation, we should not get ourselves into a “vice trade” for economic reasons. Sentosa should be left alone for our children. It is too close to be safe.> unquote

  • Where the men go: Students, Moms Make Ends Meet As Strippers ? Sentosa resorts in 2007 I presume?
