Good

Aristotle, the great thinker said, ""The highest Good is God!""

In the Bible the old KJV..in Psalms 37:23

23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

[edit] :see Jesus, said to the rich young man. " Do good "

    • and the young man replied "I've done all these!"

then Jesus reminded him, " Give away all and come and follow Me! " The point here is the "Way to the kingdom of heaven" This young rich man want to get there and asked Jesus for the "how to" question.
His asking was exactly the wrong kind of question! Heaven is not by working your way there !

    • Jesus answered his wrong way of asking question, but then he tell him exactly how - "Follow Me" i.e by faith in Jesus
    • The way to heaven is not based upon good works that is done here on Earth, but by faith in Jesus Therefore, any good done on earth will have earthly good , but what's done for our eternal good is already finished by Jesus on the Cross goto see John 3:16
  • Going to heaven is by Grace or unmerited favour thru faith in Jesus

Quotes:

"Most kind Jesus, grant me Your grace, I pray; let it dwell in me, work in me, and abide in me to the end. Grant me always to will and desire whatever is most pleasing and acceptable to You. Let Your will be mine, and let my will ever follow and be conformed wholly to Your own. Let me ever will and not will in union with Yourself, and be unable to will otherwise than You will or do not will. Grant that I may die to all things in this world, and for Your sake love to be despised and unknown. Grant me, above all else, to rest in You, that my heart may find its peace in You alone; for You are the heart’s true peace, its sole abiding place, and outside Yourself all is hard and restless. In this true peace that is in You, the sole, supreme, and eternal Good, I will dwell and take my rest. Amen"
