Indian who speak Hindi,<so may languages lor> etc and originated from India. Singaporeans can be of Indian descent and culturally unrelated to India, but it is very very rare to find anyone who is an Indian and not culturally related to Indian culture.

== Hindi (हिन्दी) == is a language spoken mainly in North and Central India. It is an Indo-European language, of the Indo-Aryan subfamily. Hindi is written in Devanāgarī. Hindi became the official language[2] of India on January 26, 1965, although English and 21 other languages are recognised as official languages by the Constitution of India. There are approximately 1650 languages and dialects spoken across India. Most linguists think of modern vernacular Hindi and Urdu as the same language. In essence this modern language is better termed Hindustani, a combination of the two languages with many English loanwords. In summary, the differences are that Hindi is written in Devanāgarī and draws vocabulary from Sanskrit, while Urdu is written in the Persian script and draws on Persian and Arabic. The term Hindustani encompasses Hindi, Urdu and related dialects.
