There EXISTS two branches of laws recognised by the inhabitants on earth, the first is the unwritten laws existing in the mind all peoples as people will always need to create a form of oral or written law in order to live in harmony in a closed unit or society, foremost guide to the laws is the consciousness of wise elders or statesmen in their own society who form the conscience of any existing society on earth: whether it is at the National (Republic,State, tribe, family levels) or the local levels. The way we live are often expressed as our cultural habits or lifestyles, and in a multi-cultural society as Singapore we respect all the official languages and religions of each distinct group of people existing here on this little Island of paradise in the sun. The second type of law(s) is the legal codes of laws or labeled as such the Law of Singapore. which formed the basis or foundational stone upon our local whole society is regulated, and our Country's constitution is the core of our whole complex system in which our Singaporean society comprises..

Lately the overwhelming need to establish such a system where family and other matters may be settled under the local Town council members appointed to carry out such roles as peace makers or meditator. They also worked in co-operation with the existing system in view.

[edit] The Law in Singapore

The early pioneers of the State of Singapore had taken into consideration the various languages and cultures of different people living here on the Island when they started to charter the unknown territory when forming the State of Singapore in the early 60s. They were a team comprises of English and Chinese speaking educated gentlemen who are the majority party - the PAP or the People Action Party with Mr. Lee Kuan Yew as the leader, a trained (Englsih) lawyer.

At that time the British law and order was already established on the Island (a colony under a Governor, a representative under the Crown rule). All our laws precedents are based upon the English codes of laws as regards to land rights (property rights) and people's rights. At that time of existence our legal codes was still under certain provisions or constraints under British colonial Laws, the appeal can be to the highest Court in England (U.K.). Eventually that had to change, when the judiciary became independent of the British system.

[edit] Criminal law

A variety of activities ranging from smoking to carrying durians is banned on Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit system.

  1. REDIRECT

The criminal law of Singapore is largely statutory in nature. The general principles of criminal law, as well as the elements and penalties of common criminal offences such as homicide, theft and cheating, are set out in the Penal Code.<ref>Template:Singapore Statute.</ref> Other important offences are created by statutes such as the Arms Offences Act,<ref>Template:Singapore Statute.</ref> Kidnapping Act,<ref>Template:Singapore Statute.</ref> Misuse of Drugs Act<ref>Template:Singapore Statute.</ref> and Vandalism Act.<ref>Template:Singapore Statute.</ref>

In addition, there is a perception that Singapore society is highly regulated through the criminalization of many activities which are considered as fairly harmless in other countries. These include failing to flush toilets after use,<ref>Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) Regulations (Cap. 95, Rg. 3, 2000 Rev. Ed.), rg. 16.</ref> littering,<ref>Environmental Public Health Act (Template:Singapore Statute, 2002 Rev. Ed.), s. 17(1).</ref> jaywalking,<ref>Road Traffic (Pedestrian Crossings) Rules (Cap. 276, R 24).</ref> the possession of pornography,<ref>Penal Code, see above, s. 292(a) (possessing any obscene book, pamphlet, paper, drawing, painting, representation or figure, or any other obscene object).</ref> the sale of chewing gum,<ref>Sale of Food (Prohibition of Chewing Gum) Regulations (Cap. 283, Rg. 2, 2004 Rev. Ed.).</ref> and sexual activity such as oral and anal sex between men.<ref>Penal Code, see above, s. 377A.</ref> Nonetheless, Singapore is one of the countries with the least crime in the world, with a low incidence of violent crimes.<ref>

Presently the Law of Singapore had evolved into many modern modes especially in regard to the ministerial bodies that exists to operate or control their governing system of practices, regulations and policy matters in regards to matters on the minds of the people such money, rights, privacy and including the regulation of traffic and vehicles permitted to operate on this little Island. Therefore it is beyond our field to describe further..
