Politics is a process by which collective decisions are made within groups. Although the term is generally applied to behavior within governments, politics is also observed in all human group interactions, including corporate, academic, and religious institutions. Sociologists generally use this meaning.
To try to separate Politics from religious matters has been a artificial way as done under the administration <during> of John F. Kennedy's government in USA.
The term secular and religious became a way to separate those two artificial areas but still no altogether successful as all matters of life whether in Politics or not, are intertwined closely

Perhaps so many happily contented most ppl here don't care nor have any ideas any thoughts about how the way those great politicians or Singaporeans are running the Country and how they had used words and ideas to brainwash us that we are all failing to discern the truth!
What is the truth? A vast majority of our population are predominately existentialist and are totally confused by the issue between the present reality and the truth. A Buddhist adherent came to visit my home during this Chinese New Year. It's not exactly my cup of tea to offer him along with religion or politics, however this was his yearly hobby horse that he rides whenever he came to pay his yearly respect to me and my family. (I am his elder in my father's family and he is my half brother) Of course as hospitable ppl we listened and pay respects to his opinions, and sometimes I would offer my humble POVs in a respectful way by asking him what he thinks about such and such an issue..BTW he always left our house in a cordial and congenial mood and we wish one another well.
What did my brother said about the truth? He could have said that the Japanese came to Singapore and we had a great time learning Japanese culture and their language (he never like history (he majored in Maths, Science in his own school days) and never talk about it - including the WW 2 or Japanese occupation!). I probably laughed though I won't forthrightly say he's ignorant about the ever sufferings and present horrors and total disregard for non-Japanese lives lived under the three and half years of Japanese occupation in Singapore Malaya and Southeast Asia, let alone talk about the historical anti-Chinese or The Nanjing Massacre. I won't trivializes him by such a manner as to correct his obvious ignorant about the late history here in Singapore. I was born late after the war (in 1946) and he is nearly twenty years my junior.
Personally it's un-important what my brother says as he does not live here in my home and don't walk in my shoes either! Obviously he know that: so what he chooses to talk about? Politics..of course..!

- Well i said, there is a great difference between truth and reality which i hope he will get to find out in your own words.. hehehehehe. I agreed the garmen has the official version though it's far from the truth as I known about our own brand of clever politicians and the present garmen!

We have so little to share except the election date is still not out, it's keep people guessing just to stir up some good support needed..what will the issues be: National Service defaulters ? Immigration issues ? Cost of living ? NKF scandals ? Sharing the fruits of the garmen? WPs manifesto with analogy with poison and time bombs ?
Politics is an all open subject, but the PAP is not going to open another can of worms until the opposition get wiser, and start probing...so far they are consolidating their power display for the big showdown..but when? It's costly to get the settup for the oppositions <$36,000 deposited with the voting authority plus ...> and whois is paying? The Garmen? Politics is a subject for study but as a topic for talking it's not interesting since political talk is considered taboo, and out for most people except those people always on the non-GARMEN side, and don't support GARMEN policies!
- Someone shouted Down with the PAP! My respect for the man was lowered when he made the crass remark. I am not a supporter of PAP either, but respect is still respect!
- The history of the political events are pretty at an infancy stage, and unlike the olden days when one can be boasting to be getting top score or credits in History (ie. pretty much study old history of the British Empire and her colonies etc,etc.)
- Singapore has been allowed to be independent following separation from the British rule then from Malaysia to become a new State, Country and now Republic within the lifetime of most living people here in Singapore, and so what's there to talk about, we experienced it and seen it all!
2004: The Government announced that it was studying the possibility of setting up a casino cum resort in Singapore. This is a major u-turn from its previous rejection of a legalised casino on the island state.
2005: It has been nearly 6 months of endless debate, but a final decision has not been reached on the casino issue. This is another major u-turn from Singapore's normally efficient attitude towards conducting nearly anything.
- In Spore GARMEN take notice of everything with CCTVs everywhere, beware don't trip on haywire here!
- Also make good of the coming Xtra holiday when Singapore celebrate with parades on the 40th national day, you can cabok to oversea,loh and see places. Come home safe, okay? So what day is that .. i si, it's a Tuesday on August 9th 2005.
There are a few winners among those who take the wrong side - the oppositions! Why not be a supporter of the PAP? I just don't know why, but I always vote for the opposition just as if they could win! Am I stupid?165.21.154.115 10:45, 8 Sep 2005 (SGT)
