Prefigurement comes from Pre- = before it happens. A -figure - common idea of an event or person.

• It is like a drawing as in a cartoon character, so we have a figure of speech ie. the movie had all the after effects meaning it shows only the results of the believe-to-be-real things/person dying/tortures, examples of such like using tricks or some dummies or even some real person in place of the important actor/actress. Such expressions as after effects are used, meaning as a figure of speech. The Bible prefigurement or foreshadowed are found in the Old testament frequently. We labelled such as Old Testament "types".
