One of the most violent waves of storms in recent history of Rio Grande do Sul reached the west and north of Rio Grande do Sul state in the afternoon and evening of Saturday, October 20, 2007. Thousands of homes have roofs by hailstones in some instances up to measure four inches. The giant hail hit at least ten locations in northwestern gaucho and spread destruction level devastating for some communities that had almost all the houses damaged by the storm. Who experienced the storm reports that the feeling was terror and helplessness before the fury of ice cubes. What you see below is a historical document of the day when the sky fell on part of Rio Grande do Sul

[edit] Books, our best of friend!
- Introduction to a writer-Franz Kafka was born into the flux of social discord and bureaucratic dead weight that was otherwise known as Prague. With both God and father wielding hammers above his head, Kafka came of age in a city which had, under the assault of the modern world, ceased to make any sense.
[[3]]
..
There had always been a creative bent to Kafka. A voracious reader, he had known from early childhood that he wanted to be a writer. Around the age of fourteen, he wrote plays for his sisters to perform at his parents’ birthday parties, and in 1899 he began to experiment with fiction. But writing was no way to make a living, and his father would never approve of such an impractical career choice. Furthermore, it didn’t appear that Kafka even liked anything he wrote. The only work from this period which escaped destruction is a story called “Tale of Shamefaced Lanky and Impure in Heart,” which survived only because it was included in a letter to his friend Oskar Pollak…

[edit] Vote for the party which cares and shares
- election is coming Up...
[edit] Election issues
In the last election 2006, the ruling Part (PAP} won. However the growing opposition had a good fight and increased their shares of supporting votes. The P.M. had a slight margin of votes (about 66.6 per cent) of expected win in the YCK-AMK GRC.
[edit] Todate
Those marginalized opposition ( 2 seats won) still are the minority though their support is around 40 per cent of the population's votes. The ruling party had used their political power to group together GRC to pull them through in spite of their poorer wins over the last two or three elections. Walkovers were common until the opposition or the left wing side is seen as an alternative to balance-off the the strong relentless power of the PAP as one party rule over our Country.
.ran away?..Election_coming![edit] Hot Issues not to be missed
The GIC was the best secret kept by the garmen until the late President Ong Teng Cheong brought it out via the questioning as the One to be in charge of the hoard. In the 60s, 70s 80s and 90s the budget had much surpluses (billions) beyond the normal needs .. it all goes to the garmen-controlled GIC silently.
Imagine we had to live on pennies and saved those dollars and cents in the CPF under the compulsory garmen scheme, much of our lands and properties were acquired by the garmen for the common good as it were sold out in full co-operation with the garmen's plan to develop the Country (progress!) when in fact it was ...coercion. The common ppl had lost all their lands and properties (all acquired by the garmen) for the in common good for the country. Now those sovereign wealth comes from the original sweat and blood or the hard earned money the ppl cannot afford, do we have a share? Is it really sovereign wealth or common wealth?
- the GIC loses and glosses to-date show the garmen had done not as well as believed. Lately a report shows that GIC lose about 25 per cent of its value. A larger proportion was lost during the last reccession when the CEO admitted it. Almost 70 per cent of the Swiss Bank (UBS and Citigroup) investments was lost to the tune of ...
[edit] Escape from Paradise?
- Balancing the budget? hehehe over the past it look like it(totally un-balanced to the surpluses!), now perhaps better, so can we get ride of the opposition? That's a very important question to think through. We are still taxed to the limits that most of us cannot afford, or hardly or barely able to survive! Why cannot we use some of the benefits to enhance the lives of our ppl and lighten their tax burdens? We already have in place the GST ERPs, High road and property taxes, and when we buy a new car it's $20K -30K COE levy(or privilege to drive a car!), besides what else the garmen cannot imagine to tax us? It's already overloading as it is..
- Your HDB flat' ...Can you afford it?, none of the common ppl can, unless one has cash ready or a rich benefactor to help out. The low cost housing already subsided by garmen is beyond our pockets and CPF savings, unless we are rich like those who can afford 30K or more for daily pocket money! Imagine a flat with 4 rooms for a sum 250K or more depending on the area and it's only affordable via garmen rentals or lease.
[edit] Household income for 2009 falls across the board
[[5]]
[edit] The car population under control?hehehe!
- I used to drive around our little island paradise in the 90s however nowis it's a hazardous to drive anywhere here. The reason is due to the amount of craxie drivers and speeding monstrous cars on the roads, coupled with the rushing and speeding habits of our poorly taught Spore drivers which is below par compared with those safe courteous drivers in other developed Countries like Canada, New Zealand etc..instead of Slowing down we ( poor rushing Sporean drivers) speed up to beat the red lights, and we love to beat the other poor guys (road users) who drive on our overcrowded roads. Instead of safety we should be minding, we are trying to overdo one another and enjoy the craxie challenge and fun as if we are riding and driving along with those Grandee Preeeeeeeeeeeer drivers on the super highways! We drivers are crazily driving mad like those international RACE prize winners on the dangerous highways and Spore roads. No wonder the accidents rate and road deaths daily are so many! Even obscure places are high-lighted for dangers nowis..herein an example..

[edit] Fish prices set to soar over Lunar New Year period
SINGAPORE: Fishes are traditional Chinese symbols of wealth and prosperity. But be prepared to shell out more dollars for them during this festive Lunar New Year period.
Fish mongers say prices of grouper and pomfret have more than doubled to about S$30 a kilo. However, they are quick to deny any speculations of price-fixing.
Fish mongers say the sharp hike is due to greater demand over the festive period, coupled with a smaller supply of seafood.
Some fish mongers are reporting a drop of up to 30 per cent in their fish stocks, saying rough seas are to blame.
"When there are big waves, they overwhelm the smaller fishing boats so their catch is smaller," explained Woo Chee Meng, a fish monger. "And the bigger boats avoid going out to sea altogether because of the rough waters."

Have you ever heard of a little organ in your brains (outside really)..
The pineal gland (also called the pineal body, epiphysis cerebri, epiphysis or the "third eye") is a small endocrine gland in the vertebrate brain. It produces melatonin, a hormone that affects the modulation of wake/sleep patterns and photoperiodic (seasonal) functions. It is shaped like a tiny pine cone (hence its name), and is located near the center of the brain, between the two hemispheres, tucked in a groove where the two rounded thalamic bodies join.

Governments and charities around the world are mobilising in an urgent effort to get aid to the earthquake-ravaged country of Haiti.
Aftershocks have continued to rock the country as Haitians, many afraid to return to their homes, come to terms with the scale of the disaster.
Casualties are expected to reach into the thousands, as rescuers franticly attempt to extract survivors from collapsed buildings in the capital Port-au-Prince.
The quake's epicentre was only 16 kilometres from the capital Port-au-Prince. About 4 million people live in the city and surrounding area.
The 7.0 magnitude quake, the most powerful to hit Haiti in more than 200 years according to the US Geological Survey, toppled the presidential palace and hillside shanties alike and has left the Caribbean nation appealing for international help.

[edit] Chinese teenagers complain: not enough sleep!
In China young teenagers from poor families often leave school early, and had to work on poor paying jobs. some of those teenagers became successful at what they were doing, and made lots of money yet they are often suffering from lack of sleep. Sleeping problems and long hours of work and social life causes depression and unhealthy mental states. see examples below:
[edit] in U.K.
..
Going to bed earlier protects teenagers against depression and suicidal thoughts, New York research suggests.
Of 15,500 12 to 18-year-olds studied, those who went to bed after midnight were 24% more likely to have depression than those who went before 2200. (10 pm).
And those who slept fewer than five hours a night had a 71% higher risk of depression than those who slept eight hours, the journal Sleep reports.
It is estimated 80,000 UK children and young people have depression

[edit] Holding vast amount of wealth or currency?
It's hard to define, labels of all sorts are invented to justify wrongly or rightly the vast amount of paper numbers to define wealth. Actually wealth can be increased or decreased by the measure of existing liquidity on the markets, or what actually people's credit worth or what they hold in their coin jars and pocket books. The amount of wealth is also the amount or degree of existing trust one bank with another institution the banks holds or borrows from among all the consortium or banking institution. See commerce..business..banking..credit..bonds.. etc..
